No, having a baby will not ruin your future. While an unexpected pregnancy may change the plans you had for your life, it doesn’t mean your dreams, goals, or opportunities are gone. The road ahead may look different than you imagined, and there may be challenges along the way, but many of life’s most meaningful experiences come through unexpected circumstances. A different future isn’t necessarily a bad one; it may just simply be a future you haven’t envisioned yet.

What resources and financial help are available to pregnant students?

Many schools offer accommodations, emergency grants, scholarships for student parents, and on-campus support services. What resources are available to you will depend on your age, income, location, and school, but there are often more options than students initially realize.

Organizations within your community can also offer helpful resources like medical care, housing support, financial help, childcare assistance, and more. Our client advocates at Empower SAV can help you get connected to the resources you need.
